What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through at strategic points on your body. A key component of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain. Increasingly, it is being used for overall wellness, including stress management.

Traditional Chinese medicine explains acupuncture as a technique for balancing the “flow” through your body. By inserting needles into specific points along these pathways, practitioners have found improvements in stimulating nerves, muscles and connective tissue. The benefits of acupuncture have been known for thousands of years. Acupuncture helps with acute and chronic pain, naturally and effectively.

Some patients feel relaxed after an acupuncture treatment while others feel energized!

Acupuncture is used mainly to relieve discomfort associated with a variety of diseases and conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Reducing Narcotic Intake
  • Chemotherapy-induced and postoperative nausea and vomiting
  • Insomnia
  • Headaches, including tension headaches and migraines
  • Pregnancy, Labor, and Postpartum Health
