Dr. Jacob received a BA in Philosophy of Science at SUNY Binghamton in 1974, his DC degree from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (LACC) in 1978 and graduated the California Acupuncture College (CAC) in 1981. 

He served as the Dean of Western sciences and instructor of orthopedics and point location at the California Acupuncture College form 1980-1984.  He received an OMD (Doctor of Oriental Medicine)  from CAC in 1983.    

In 1991, he became the 12th individual to receive the Diploma in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (DipMDT) from the McKenzie Institute International. 

In 2003, he received his MPH (Master of Public Health) in Community Health Education and Promotion from UCLA.

Dr. Jacob has authored multiple textbook chapters and journal articles on the McKenzie Method of MDT (Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy) and has taught internationally re MDT, rehab, biopsychosocial and med-legal issues.  He has served as postgraduate faculty for multiple Chiropractic colleges

In 2018 he achieved Primary Spine Practitioner Certification from the University of Pittsburgh.

From 2018 to 2019 he served as a research adjunct/topic expert at the Rand Corporation for a multicenter study on Chiropractic and chronic pain.

He has extensive experience in Utilization Review, is a qualified as an expert witness, and has served on guidelines development committees.   

Dr. Jacob maintains a private practice in Pacific Palisades, California, is Clinical Professor at Southern California University of Health Sciences and Doctoral Faculty at Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine.
